Serves: 9x13 dish
- APPLE BOTTOM
- 13 apples baking/green/granny smith
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ tsp ginger
- ⅛ tsp cloves
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup apple cider
- 1½ Tbsp lemon juice
- 6 Tbsp butter
- TOPPING
- 2¼ cups flour, pastry or all purpose
- ¾ cup sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ¾ cup butter
- ¾ cup oats
- 6 Tbsp cream
- Butter and flour a 9x13 dish. Chill.
- Toss apples, spices, honey, lemon juice and sugars.
- Pour into baking dish. Top with butter pieces.
- Bake 350F for 30 minutes. Cool.
- Mix topping ingredients all together.
- Pour topping onto baked apples.
- Bake 375F for ~45 minutes.
- Cool 15-30 minutes before serving (to set).
